Managing your inventory and storage

general Tip

Buy Packing Tips and a Handy Bag from the PC shop early to expand your 20-slot starting bag, and park Storage Boxes next to your workbench so crafting pulls materials automatically.

You start with just 20 bag slots (each stacking up to 99 of one item), which fills up fast once you're hauling ore, logs, and crops around. The PC shop sells a tiered Packing Tips upgrade line — Rookie, Intermediate, Pro, and Expert — with Rookie adding 10 slots and the higher tiers adding roughly 30 each; buying these as soon as you can afford them pays off immediately, since every farming and building trip assumes you're not constantly running back to unload.

The Handy Bag is a separate PC shop purchase that adds a smaller 10 slots but is worth it mainly for its hotbar — it can be mapped to stay on screen for instant access to a handful of items, which is much faster than digging through a full inventory menu while building or gardening.

For anything you're not carrying on you, craft Storage Boxes and place them directly next to your workbench (or kitchen, for food ingredients); stations automatically pull materials from adjacent storage, so a dump-and-forget routine of unloading your bag into nearby boxes after every gathering trip keeps both your bag and your crafting queue moving without manual item-shuffling.
