The fastest way to farm Gold Ore

farming Tip

Gold Ore is rarer than Copper or Iron and concentrated in Rocky Ridges' deep mines, with the Abandoned Mine Shaft and a daily Dream Island run as the two fastest sources.

Gold Ore blocks show up deeper in the Rocky Ridges mine layers than Copper or Iron, marked by a distinct yellow ore vein, and — like Pokemetal and other dense ore — need a Hamburger Steak-boosted Rock Smash to break efficiently. The Abandoned Mine Shaft in the mine's southwest corner is repeatedly flagged as the richest single spot, reportedly holding around six Gold Ore veins along its rail line in one contained area.

For a renewable daily source instead of a one-time sweep, visit the Volcanic Dream Island by giving Drifloon an Arcanine doll; it restocks with fresh Gold Ore each day, which stacks well with the general Dream Island routine of hitting a doll island once (or twice, with a Cloud Island unlocked) per day.

A Crush-specialty Pokémon parked near a gold vein will also generate Gold Ore passively over time, so pairing an active mining sweep with a standing Crush Pokémon keeps a slow trickle coming in even on days you don't visit the mines.
